Dropping Players:
The cost of dropping one of your players is to pay HALF of their remaining contract. There are no exceptions to this rule. Wether it's career ending injury, retirement, steroids suspension, playing in Japan or just loss of ability, half of the player's total contract must be paid. The value of an option year is not included in the drop costs. To initiate this process, the owner wishing to drop a player will make a post in the leage message board declairing intent to drop. The post will include the current contract and acknowledge that half of the value is being paid to buy out the contract. Again, there is no exception to this rule. Bid carefully.
Penalties:
A. Violations of the salary cap will result in penalties which will take the form of reductions of total salary cap. Matchup points gained by player additions that place a team over cap will be voided by the LM.
First Violation = Warning from LM.
Second Violation = Token fine of $1mil from current years cap total.
Additional Violations = Each additional violation will incure a $5mil fine. The fine can be taken out of current years cap or future years cap at LM's discretion.
B. A roster may never have fewer than 25 active players.
First and Second Violations = warning from LM (owner will have 2 days to resolve issue)
Additional Violations = Dropped players action will be overturned. Players returned to their rosters and trades invalidated. A $1mil fine will be applied to team under 25 players and the team will be subject to additional fines if at any time in this process their salary exceeds their salary cap.
Common Sense:
Just to make it real clear, an individual can only have one team (with the obvious exception of the Bye Week Team). Having two teams in this league would be cheating. I can't believe that I actually have to add this in, but it actually happened in one of my leagues last year. If it is discovered that a league member has multiple teams, they will be removed from the league immediately.
