Below is a reminder and helpful tips. Complete rules for FA are listed in the rules section
Hey guys,
a few more questions I have been asked will be answered here. If you have others, please ask here and I can answer. That way, everyone will see.
1: You need 25 men on your active roster by March 31, 2014. I don't care where or how you get those 25. They in no way need to be from the rosters you draft. You can get them through FA, trades, promotions, or waivers. Just have 25 before we start. That prevents folks from tanking their team for the sake of salary savings.
2: FA will consist of every guy not on a roster. We will start with the most owned (usually stars) and work our way down. In order to prevent chaos, I will post 10 players at a time. As the draft moves along, I will advance that number to 15. At no time will more than 15 players be posted for bidding. A bid must stand for 24 hours before the player is awarded. This process may take some time, so be patient.
3: In regards to how the past seasons have worked. If you have a contract north of 20 mil a year, it's probably safe to assume that you can drop that contract and get them for less in FA. Only one player has gone for more than 20 mil, that was Cano. However, the Cano bid of 24 mil a year ended up destroying the team, the owner quit, and we dropped him in order to save the team. If you are looking at 10 years 20 mil, drop the dude. It will save you and the league (Braun, Pujols, Hamilton come to mind).
